'Nighthunter' Vintage Film Trailer Viral

I don't usually post work produced through my employers, RSA Films, but this is a great viral directed by new young talent called Ben Whitehouse through the Joy Films division of the company. All comments are greatly received.

AMP Energy 'Walk of No Shame'

Crazy traditional TV ad idea. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when BBDO New York pitched this idea to the client, even at the PPM. Couldn't they have found actors that could actually sing?

Prototyping Services as Storytelling

I randomly found this web video from Bill Moggridge, holding a keynote at the danish CIID conference Service Design Symposium on the 180360720 blog.

How do you actually prototype an idea for a service?  To really bring all the elements together "from architecture, physical design, electronic technology from software" to clearly illustrate a new service or product, the most effective way is to tell it as a story, as a film. Near the end of this web video, there is another video within it from Intel which I use in my presentations, showing a near future or close to present now, where your voice activated phone will be your GPS. "it’s about storytelling, it’s about narrative."

Clay Shirky 'Cognitive Surplus' Speech Web2.0 Conference

Don't know how to put this in context but Clay Shirky, professor at NYU's interactive telecommunications program, has written this insightful book called Here comes Everybody. Shirky goal 'is to describe the intersection of social tools and social life, helping people to understand both what's happening around them and how tools could be designed that better support social activity' but just watch the web video of his 'Cognitive Surplus' speech at Web 2.0 conference where he compares television viewing attention hours with wikipedias. Twice in the last couple of weeks I have had people say to me, 'Where do you find the time to do all this?' I tell them that I don't watch TV and if I do have it on it's usually live TV and on in the background. UPDATE - Good post from Neil McIntosh here
